As for wanting / not wanting kids. I don't know. Part of me would like kids one day. On the other hand, I'm afraid I'd mess them up.

    Ah, sterile?

Had I done this as a kid, I would have been beaten for it.
Not like bamboo cane or whip beating though, just paddle and maybe belt beating. TBH, in retrospect it really wasn't that bad, and I really did learn to be a pretty decent human being. I turned out just fine too, in fact, I'd like to think better than some of my peers. But that's a bit pretentious, so I digress.

There's obviously a large debate over child punishment though, with adamant supporters on either side of the fence. Which one is right is really a gray zone in my opinion, and while I would like to think soft punishment would be sufficient for my future kids, I definitely see the use for the other side. I think moderation is key in this area; I mean you don't want to see kids running around wild, but at the same time you shouldn't beat your kid senseless. Unfortunately, in today's society everything is construed as child abuse, and I fear that we have strayed a little too far left towards "soft" punishment. But that's just me, I'm sure many of you feel differently.

That was a little off topic.

90 day refund policy w/ iTunes, if I do recall correctly; but I'm sure there's many caveats.

Just bc someone doesn't want children (gasp!!), doesn't mean they can't have them, or even if sterility was the prblem, there's a little thing called adoption. Thousands of unwanted children...

There are many, MANY parents that SHOULDN'T have children. For one of the posters to say that he doesn't want a child for fear he/she will "mess them up," i applaud you. You actually have forethought and restraint when it comes to coitus and relationships.

Wow, think of that...someone you thinks *before* they act......maybe a lot more people should take *that* lead...

Off topic, fine. I didn't bring it up, but if they can insinuate someone is sterile bc they don't want kids, we can have a say in it too.

On topic, if I had accidentally purchased this same app, and not an 11-year-old, would i have gotten that same refund?

So for .17 GHz upgrade we are sacrificing around 30% graphic power?

The i5 can retire more instructions per clock cycle, and so could actually run real software faster at even a lower GHz clock speed than a C2D.

I've got a 2.5 yr old MacBook that is feeling stretched with Aperture. I've been thinking that an iMac / iPad combination would be a good replacement.

Anyone with experience in getting iPads to work with iMacs (specifically remote access)?

I have been thinking same, new iMac and the iPad 2.

This is great but I do have a question..
Since it's bluetooth and Apple says it works within 30 ft.What happens if you're in a starbucks and other people have bluetooth turned on ?
Will they be able to "hack" your Mighty Mouse?
I pressume it's no different from every other bluetooth device, other bluetooth mice, mobile phones, headsets etc etc.

There is bound to be a way, but not common place. The usual code pairing should do the trick like every other Tom, Dick and Harry (or even Alvin, Simon and Theodore!) BT device.

Yep, a touch sensitive home button is the way to go. Will act as the unlock button too. It was about time we got rid of that nasty plastic which breaks very easily.

Um no, they do not break very easily. Maybe a gorilla might break it easily.

In Boston, mostly everyone I know with an iPhone, including myself, uses a case. It's more surprising when you see someone NOT using a case.

I use a case so it doesn't get as damaged in my pocket, and in the event you drop the device, there may be some saving grace that it doesn't shatter the glass.

3 iPhones in brookline running naked.
Although we have a few bumpers and a variety of cases laying around

Is anyone else bothered by the button to buy more batteries?

Yes, it seems like a Microsoft thing.

It's actually a very Apple thing to do. Apple has always been about making a totally integrated, complete end-to-end computing environment and Apple has also always been dedicated to transforming things that had been difficult for non-techies to do into some so simple and effective that even advanced technical users decide it's the best method. This is probably not the first time an option to buy hardware has been built into software, but just like Time Machine is revolutionary because it's the first SIMPLE file-by-file backup system and not because it's the first backup system ever, so too this "Buy Battery" button is revolutionary because of how simple and integrated it is.

I'm hardly an Apple apologist, I complain quite loudly when they do things that are lame. But I think this is a very Apple thing to do and a feature that isn't just a built in advertisement. If I had an OS X button to buy a new battery when I wanted one, rather than tracking down the battery model number I needed and having to worry about who to buy from and bothering with technical details, I'd definitely appreciate being able to just click that button.

Making the entire computer experience simple, easy and fun is what Apple has always been about, and this is a natural continuation of those ideals. In fact, I hope they expand this functionality to include upgrading ram and hard disks (as long as they don't go overboard with the prices like in the b.t.o. options at the apple store).

Really this is a wonderful new breakthrough in Apple's quest for computing easiness.

The GeForce 9800 will work from what I have seen, thy this thread for more info. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=461892) and here (http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1322096) google "gpu folding" to find all kinds of info

Let us know how it goes if you do get one to try.

thanks for the reply and links. i'm not sure if the 9800GT is the route i'll go. but if i could run 2 of those, i'd probably get better ppd than just the smp on my mac pro. i might even try a better card if it'll work

Ha sound like me...typical college student. I've been selling stuff and have returned about 4 things in the past week because they all sucked!
Agreed. I had some cash left over and been meaning to look into remote earbuds since my stock apple ones died and I didn't want to purchase those again. Fell into the marketing scheme a little bit by the Dre's, but I wanted buds that wrapped around the ears since in ears are difficult for me to keep steady.

Found some Phillips for $50, so I'm going to get my $162 back in a few hours.

I wonder how this will affect the future of iPhone release dates? i.e. next year and in the future, will iPhones be released in the fall or go back to their usual June/July release? I am eligible for an upgrade March of next year, so I don't want to upgrade to the iPhone 5 in March if a newer iPhone is going to be released a couple months later.

"appleguy213? I think I'm a Muppet." "I know how you feel." said appleguy321 as he looked around the futuristicly white room they where in. Curiously enough, there was also an orange Muppet with a childlike grin on its face. Then with a pop noise, chrmjenkins changed back to a human. While appleguy123 stayed a Muppet.

Then a door made an noise, that just so happened to sound like a woman in mid orgasm, and opened. In walked a robot with a small head and holding a banana. "Come on, to the bridge with you two." said jav6454. chrmjenkins and appleguy321 followed him, through the moaning doors and up a stair case to the bridge.

nies and lbro where pushing three buttons over and over again in an attempt to look like they where doing something, so that the intruders thought they where important. In walked jav6454 and the intruders. "Welcome to the ship of tomorrow!" announced lbor with enthusiasm that rivaled a fangirl seeing Justine Beaver.

appleguy312 upon seeing nies, squealed with a hatred so intense that his Muppeteer nearly blacked out. nies, not happy about seeing the creeper from the market on his ship, turned to leave. appleguy123, still wanting to be with him, grabbed jav6454's banana, ate it, and trough the peel in front of the overly pompous nies. Who consequently tripped and fell, cracking his head upon the control panel and turned into a trans-dimensional mouse.

Those of you who have used both versions of Pages, do you find the '06 version to be significantly quicker? Someone a few pages ago commented on its sluggish performance. I have to admit that I've had sort of a delayed reaction (in terms of the time it takes for a sentence to appear after I've finished typing it) in my limited Pages experience. (Mind you, I do have an older machine.) A performance increase alone would be a worthy upgrade in my book.
