Using prices for comparison, current Mighty Mouse is $49 and Bluetooth Mouse is $59.

I would like to see the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse at $59 or even better a Bluetooth Keyboard and Mighty Mouse Combo for $99.

    FW800 on both sizes.

    200GB HDD (at 4200rpm) available.

Good initial RAM 1GB on lower models, 2GB on high end ones.

Everything else seems pretty much the same.

To be honest, I've had more application crashes and restarts on OSX than I have under XP/Windows in the past 3 years. So much for "crash resistant" - and yes, I've had 4 kernel panics since I got this iMac home; that's more than the number of BSODs I've had under XP in 4 years.

Which means -- as everyone is saying -- that there is something wrong with your computer. I have a MacBook, two Intel iMacs, and a Mac Pro in my house, and they do not crash despite heavy daily use. My poor Mac Pro is running three different operating systems right now using Parallels, with nary a complaint. If you are getting unexplained kernel panics on a clean install of Mac OS X, then you have a hardware problem.

Hardware problems can affect any OS -- I've seen Windows systems that get daily BSODs. It's not because "Windows sucks", it's because there was a sub-par memory chip or somesuch in the system. Likewise Mac OS X crashes, when nobody else is experiencing a problem, are not an indication of the stability of the OS but rather of your hardware.

You're quoting me back to me when all of us (including me) were talking about that other guy that is having hardware problems because his Parallels "sucks." Parallels kicks ass on my C2D 20" iMac - hence the reason I piped up to be the first to say something is wrong with the other guy's machine if he can't get it working right.

On mine, which is stock hardware except for the 2GB of RAM I have in it, Parallels starts up in 4 seconds, boots my XP VM in 9-10, shuts down in 3-4, restarts the same VM in under 5 seconds (have yet to figure that one out, probably because of caching someplace; I don't even see the XP splash screen when it reboots/restarts because it's so fast), suspends in 22-25 seconds, resumes in 30-34, and I have no issues with any hardware at all in my XP VM. I even burn CDs and DVDs from the XP VM over FireWire/USB without hassles (Plextor FireWire/USB external).

So, on a similarly configured piece of hardware, if he's having suspend/resume times that seem to be 4-6x longer than others then, as you said, there is something wrong with the hardware. If none of the rest of us are having said issues, your line of logic would follow and apply to his machine since he's the only one reporting such ridiculously long suspend/resume times among other things.

Parallels works for me. Since I can't post specific benchmark data for Parallels and that other new-on-the-scene virtualization software for Macs <hint, hint> I'll just say this:

I completed the testing I said I was going to do, and Parallels simply lays the smackdown across that other software. And yes I'm well aware that other software is in beta - or pre-beta late alpha as one person put it - and that's fine. But I paid for Parallels, and to use that most famous line about Macs:

    It just works.

Oh yeah, it beats that other software even with multi-core CPU support enabled. Go figure.

Parallels sucks but until now its been the only REAL game in town.

Ah... the clarion call of lamers. Might as well bash Windows since it's so pervasive while you're at it. And it's still no excuse for stealing the software and breaking the faith. Bleh...

Most of these Mac attacks seem to be more predominant with social engineering hacks and user error, than comprised code.

Anyone who would pay for such a thing may be even more disturbed than she is.

I am an FA myself, and have turned my head in admiration towards women that would make most men say "Daaaaaaaaaamn!", but I wouldn't pay to see this. I'm not into feederism; there's usually a control/codependency issue at play, and I prefer more equity in my relationships.

As I said above, I've seen cuter SSBBWs. The "Steelers Girl" is one:

The "Son, I Am Moon" girl has a sweet smile too, but I can't seem to find an online image that works.
    EDIT: Found it!

What's the next logical step in a computer interface? I used to say "Computer, show me the money" to open Quicken back in pre-OS X days. More of a gimmick than anything else, but imagine if the Finder and maybe even other apps became "speakable."

    Me: "Check mail"

Computer: "You have nine new messages. Would you like me to read them?"

    Me: "No, thanks."

(clicks on an email, reads message)

    Me: "Reply to this message"

    Computer: "Type or speak?

    Me: "Type"

Me: "Computer, I'd like to add a photo of the kids to this email."

Computer: "iphoto has 6,813 pictures of the kids, which one would you like?"

Me: "One from the birthday party last week."

Computer: (a strip from iphoto appears) "Here are 23 from last week. I've highlighted the one where your wife fixed the red eye. Is that the one you want?"

Me: "Yes, that will be fine."

Computer adds the picture to stationery in the email, other pictures go away.

    Me: "Send the email"

Me: "...and order me a pizza."

This kind of thing can't be too far off. A 75 mhz Performa could do it in a rudimentary way. Imagine what a modern Mac may be able to do. "Speakeasy" has a nice ring to it.
That sounds similar to that Apple advert from years ago whcih showed a concept of the future where you would have a true conversation way of working with a computer. We are slowly, but surely moving there.

Right, and Cocoa isn't the slightest bit bloated? (can you say runtime messaging and binding overhead?)

I'm not saying that the actual virtualization should be done in Cocoa (ha yeah right), but the GUI definitely should. Parallels takes way too long to launch, and the GUI sucks.

Plus, do you really think a Qt C++ wrapper around Carbon is faster than direct Cocoa calls?

I just want a nice documented-based Cocoa app that behaves like a Mac app, with a fast virtualization at its core :)

Oh great! Now Steve Jobs will add an even larger non-visible glossy-ass display and consumers’ will embrace it, because Steve will convince you it’s ‘magical’.

yeah because the ipad isn't really magical (it is in the sense that Steve used it) that's why all the non apple sheep are buying it and it's flying off the shelves everywhere...

But of course we should just go by your big, fat, loud and misinformed opinion.

Hmm, the same Gene Munster who:

-- predicted 4.3M iPads sold in 2010 (he actually lowered his estimate and ~15M were sold).

-- predicted "lines will be small" for iPad2 (by his own later admission, they were longer than for the original iPad).

-- predicted Apple would sell half a million iPhone 3GS during launch weekend (they sold double that).

-- predicted Apple would not launch a new iPhone at the 2009 WWDC (they did).

-- predicted in 2005 "Apple is prepping Macs to serve as a hub for digital media for consumers by incorporating Tivo-like DVR capabilities"

-- Has missed numerous financial estimates by large margins.

To be fair, Munster is better than most "professional" analysts, he does a bit more research and has a decent track record on certain details. But I'm just saying, don't put much "stock" into this.

To be fair Gene is better than some "analysts", but having said that is a joke that he get mentioned at macrumors without a modicum of reporting on his track record.

This misleads a lot of new users.

I noticed it right away mate, and I thought I was being a little pernickety until I noticed more people cropping up in threads here and especially on the Apple discussion forums.

If Apple had added features to iOS 4 over the 4.1-4.3 updates which would explain degraded performance, then fair enough, but Home Sharing and Personal Hotspot are the biggest new feature in the iOS 4 updates, and I don't honestly don't think for one second anyone is stupid enough to believe either impact the way the iPhone UI animates.

Anyway, I've restored to 4.3.2 via iTunes and while the stock apps run perfectly, the real test is when the device has a load on it, so I'm going to install some third party apps and see how things go.

Here's an advance hint ... it'll be the exact same as 4.3.2.

Good I'm not alone mate, I notice while the device is hooked to AC power you generally get better performance although games still result in 'pops'.

It seems to develop a few hours after you've setup apps. etc how you like, but just after a restore you'd forgive them for fixing it.

It's that fit and finish that I hate my device loosing for no good reason. They did add a new animation element when opening and closing apps in that the background now fades black, I'm guessing it's that addition that's causing these problems.

Ok ok , I havent read alll the 7 other pages but ... I noticed something on the mouse description :

    Bluetooth technology, ultimate portability

With its secure, reliable Bluetooth technology, wireless Mighty Mouse goes wherever you do. Pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled Mac to work untethered and uncluttered at your desk or on the go, and it operates with either one or two AA batteries no bulky dock required.

I thought it was an error ... but no . Yoiu can either use 1 or 2 batteries ... isnt that cool. So, if you are like me, when your wireless mouse is dying ... and you can only find 1 bat. that is cool :D:)

Firstly the place holder has the word 'Mac' in it.

Additionally both examples are SSH Apps.
