Am very happy with the RAM but OMG, is it expensive (590 in Belgium)

Bought it anyways. Would like to find out if I swap that second dimm out for a 2GB, would it run at 4GB of RAM? Any takers?
I dont think so the iMac only supports upto 3gb of ram because of the chipset it uses and i think the macbookpro now uses the same chipset..

aswitcher, could you explain a bit more to me what you mean by
"802.11n pending firmware upgrade..." since you're the first to mention this at all? Does anyone know if this new MBP will have 802.11n at all (for the iTV)?

This would be a good reason for it to be delayed until September.

The stacked shot is not exactly the one I would have chosen to do that with (the first shot would have been mine).

The one I used is the only one that does not have significant perspective distortion.

Highly suspicious of the first shot -- it appears that you can see the face of the white iPhone, but not the black. If the white is taller, it should be the other way around.

That native partion support to use virtualization or dual booting would be awesome, having the best of both worlds (Boot Camp & Virtualization). I look forward to it!

    YES! That would be sweeeeet!

It's going to have to outperform the ATV2 by leaps and bounds for me to purchase it. Sounds cool if it does and comes in at a reasonable price point though.

Hmmm. I was fully convinced that dethmaShine was being totally sarcastic with his posts. Seemed obvious to me.

But I see that 5 other posters don't think so. Those are some pretty big odds...5/ I really right?

    Yeah, I still think I am. :p

    Edit: 7 now!

I've read the post over again and if that was sarcasm, he's bad at it and should stop. Sarcasm on forums is bad form to begin with, the medium does not convey the emphasis appropriately.

Regardless, there are people that believe EXACTLY what he was extolling and they're sadly the sheep that marketting of the Android manufacturers have captured.

Nice metric you have there, $some people on the internet have said it, thus it must be true.

Pretty amazing. Now "speculation" is considered "fact". No wonder this country has so many problems.

Hi everyone, just joined the team.

I have an iMac core duo going at it. She isn't much with her 1.83Ghz but it'll be at it 24h a day. It's about to complete it's first WU after 1day 19hours. It sounds a bit long to me compared to the times a say reading the thread, is this normal?

    glad to have you!

I also just joined. Let see what my '08 Octo 2.8 MP can contribute to our score/rankings:D

glad to have you! like SciFrog said, get a passkey and run the bigadv units on that mac pro!

Strange it hasn't been done yet. It would help as we struggle to take on ClubLexus as they have raised their production very close to our level.

On another note, it looks like the Gulftown 6 core that will be next in the Mac Pro are screaming. It will be hard to resist getting a 12 core machine (24 with hyperthreading) unless the price is ridiculous. Should be good for 60k PPD ;)

yeah i'm surprised that they said they would give us the points, and still haven't.

have you read some info about the Gulftown's? please share if you have! oh i know it will be hard to resist buying one!

How in the world would $20 a YEAR be too much? You are talking about streaming music from a company that goes to great lengths NOT to sell your information to others. If you're too cheap for that, then use free Pandora and have your whole life story sold off to people for god knows what.

Well, it is almost time for a new iMac to be released, isn't it? (Or a Mac Mini, Mac Pro, or MacBook for that sake)

iX... At first you could think about the Roman Number 9. But as you all know, in the upper part of X, you can also find the Roman number V. So that makes 14 then. (IX + V)

Now, the iMac shipped in 1998, while now it's 2011. 13 years of difference. Almost fourteen. Coincidence? I think not. Maybe that's a hint from Apple?

Then you got Mac, with a capital M, and a lowercase a and c. In M you can find I, V, and I, which together make (IV + I) 5. In a you can find c and I, which totals in 11 (C+I). Then you got the c, which of course, just translates in 10.
5 + 11 + 10 equals 26. As much as all letters in the Roman (aka Latin) alphabet.

Which leads us to believe that we have not to count the Roman numbers, but just the Roman letters.
M is the 13th letter of the alphabet.
A is the first letter of the alphabet.
C is the 3rd letter of the alphabet.
    TOTAL: 17.

Now we all know Apple's marketing. And you know that's a hint from the name in the title: MarketingName. Big words mean more to Apple than big numbers. "This computer is fantastic" is more advertised than "This computer has 8 GB of RAM". So that can conclude that we'll have to substract the Roman numbers from the Roman letters.

    26 - 17 = 9. Nine indeed. Got it?

9 was also the number iX, which we started with. This leads us to believe we have to be on the right track.

Now what are those dots in between the words?

Anyone else can further elaborate this? Thanks for your help.

Edit: I forgot the lower case i in iX. I used it as an uppercase letter. So maybe that only counts as 0.5 instead? So that equals 13.5 with the V included. That only gives Apple 6 months to finish the new unknown thing!

You might need to rethink this, although I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something...

"C" is 100 in Roman numerals, not 10.

This morning at Fashion Island was a success. They received probably 50 or so, almost exclusively verizon models with about 4 wifi models.

I got the one I wanted 3G, 64gb, white, but I wanted ATT. It wasn't a deal breaker to get a Verizon iPad so I am a happy camper!

good job everyone, including plutonius and appleguy

now it is basically one spanking new 6-villagers game, starting tonight, with one wolf, one seer and likely one hunter.
with a twist: both the seer and the hunter could also be the wolf.
    everyone is suspect.

make it a short night guys, see you all tomorrow

Can you name a few more? I have only seen Sony support AAC on their PMP devices.

I don't understand why people still call AAC a "proprietary Apple format" in 2011. It's not even from Apple.

Screenshots in Mac OS X are saved as 32-bit PNGs, yet I've never heard anyone call PNG an "Apple format".
