Pottery Barn Knock-Off

As I have mentioned before I am sort of a Pottery Barn stalker.  I watch their website and see what's new...I study their catalogs for new ways to use things I already have.  When shopping, I walk through their store basically wanting to buy everything.

The thing is that my current style really isn't PB style.  I would have to sell everything I own and start over. That would be really fun but not very practical.  Anyway, there are some things I can use as accessories.  For example, this table runner.

PB Found Vintage Grain Sack Table Runner

It's made from "found" grain sacks and measures about 20 in. by 50 in.
It retails for $79.00.

I'm sure it's lovely.  But that's sort of expensive don't you think?
Here's my solution.

Woven Rural Jardin Woven Texture Toweling Natural/Rose

This fabric looks almost identical to the found grain sacks.
Details are:
• Contents: 90% Cotton/10% Linen
• Washing: Machine Wash Cold / Tumble Dry Low
• Width: 16''
• Manufacturer: Moda
• Collection: Rural Jardin
Description: Designed by French General for Moda Fabrics, this toweling is 16'' wide and finished on both selvedge edges. This is perfect for a table runner, tote bags and other home decor accents.

This is on sale right now for $5.98 per yard.  The width is a bit smaller than the PB version but besides that I don't see much difference.

Click here to go to Fabric.com to check it out.  I have ordered a couple of yards and will let you know how it looks.

I have found some incredible bargains at Fabric.com.  They have Dwell Studio fabric for $15.98 per yard.  On the Dwell Studio website a pillow retails for $59.00.
This is my current Dwell Studio favorite but there are more designs available.  It's a great way to get a designer look at a DIY price.  And after all, isn't that what it's all about?

Where do you get your fabric bargains?
