Little Bit of Easter

We finally have a nice day.
It's warm, sunny and beautiful.
It's the perfect time to bring a little bit of Easter into my house.

I found the pink hydrangeas at my grocery store.
They were in little pots and I looked at every one
hoping to find two with double blooms.
I even had the flower lady helping me...I'm quite sure she thought I was nuts.

All the pots had plants with a single bloom...

except one...
and it came home with me.

There should be pastel M & M's in the little bunny dish...
Unfortunately they didn't jump into my cart.
Probably a good thing...

Think this bud will open?

I had a little helper when I was taking these pictures.
She worked really hard...

Portrait of a Puppy

OK...she's not really a puppy.
She's almost 3.
From the day we brought her home she's been
a loyal and affectionate companion to me and my husband.
Although my kids are grown and gone, they love her as much as we do.
In fact, sometimes I think they come home to see her and not us...

I never knew what is was like to love a pet.
Now I do.

I'm not much of a photographer.  I don't have a tripod so I couldn't do the self portrait.
But my model was cooperating so I thought I should go for it and link up!

Ebony and Ivory

I knew I couldn't title this post "Black and White."  I wanted to think of something different and that song by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder popped in my head.

Hence the above title.

When I see black and white images in my head, I see one of two things.  One being portraits or pics of people. The other being architectural elements.  For this post I am focusing on non-living objects.  I walked around my house looking for interesting shapes.  It took a little patience but I came up with the following...

A finial on the bottom of a small table in my entry.

The top of my corner china cabinet.

The back of one of my dining room chairs.
Shaker peg pitcher.

The arm of one of the dining room chairs.
A canister on a high shelf...very close to the ceiling.

Stone urn on my mantel.

Heirloom crucifix hanging in my hallway.
While these items aren't technically pieces of architecture, they work well in black and white.   A HUGE thank you to Tracy at Tracy's Trinkets and Treasures for again hosting a photography linky party.  Check out her blog for more great black and white pics.

Have a great day!

Bokeh Time!

As I have already said in my previous posts, my camera skills could use a little tweaking.  (OK...ALOT of tweaking.)  When I saw this Bokeh party my first thought was "These people are TRYING to make their pictures blurry."  Needless to say, I thought this would be right up my alley.  Here we go...

This is a part of a table scape I put together last week.

Close up of the nest and eggs.  No Bokeh yet.

I used Picnik to blur the background although I probably wouldn't have had to...it was blurred to begin with.

A huge Thank You to Tracy from Tracy's Trinkets and Treasures.  I thought this was really fun and it was the perfect opportunity to try something different with my camera.
