Waverly Modern Essentials - Thank You!

Not too long ago I received an email from Blair at wise craft.

I entered a Waverly give away on her blog and I actually won!

Waverly sent me 5 different, coordinating fabrics in 1 yard increments.

Some day I might get up the nerve to show you my sewing room... 

let's just say I have a closet full of fabric that I have collected over the years.

But I have nothing like this...

The prints are large scale and the colors are saturated.

It is all a really substantial weight and has a great feel to it.

Blair wasn't able to "request" a color family for each winner.

Waverly sent these collections out randomly.

I was stunned that my collection was in reds and yellows.

Exactly my colors.  

The fabric Gods were watching out for me!

After I received the box from Waverly I did a Google search

to further check out this new stuff.

It is in some JoAnn Fabrics now...and coming to most stores soon..

It's also online.

A Pillow and A Pitcher ~ Thank You Give Away

I can't believe it's been less than 2 months since I started my blog.  I remember my first post...I didn't even have a camera so there's no pictures. I want to thank everyone I have met for being so welcoming and gracious.  Blogland is awesome.

I would like to thank 2 people who were so kind and patient in the beginning days of my blog.  Grace from Sense and Simplicity and Tammy from Beatrice Banks.  I'm not sure I would have stuck to it without their encouragement.  These special women are getting their own personal thank you gifts.

As a token of my thanks, and because as of today I have 100 followers (yeah!) I would like to host my first give away.  I tried to come up with something that represents me but also would be neutral enough for most decors....so I picked my 2 favorite things.  A pillow and a pitcher.

I made the pillow and found the pitcher at a local shop.  

(I really had to think twice about parting with the pitcher because I love it!)

The pillow cover is linen backed with burlap and has an envelope closure.

The piece of lace was crocheted by my grandmother.  

I think she would be happy about the way it's being used.

The pitcher has a classic design and is the perfect color.

There are no rules for this give away.  I sure hope this Google Doc works...I have to admit I'm not quite sure what I'm doing!  If you want to add this link to one of your posts I would be grateful but it's not required.
